For two years now the
District has been working away raising funds for the Camp Site Quest our
project to raise £150,000 and purchase a piece of land within a reasonable
distance of Salisbury for our young people to use at any time of the year.
So far we have raised a magnificent £50,000 and that is all down to the hard work of the leaders, the young people and the generosity of the general public.
Now we have a chance to raise a lot more. Aviva the Insurance company has a Community Fund which runs a crowd funding site for charities and this year they have accepted our project. Individuals can make donations directly to our Camp Siet Quest over the next month or so. Aviva employees decide how much of a £275,000 pot to donate to charities with projects in the fund. Other charity groups can offer match funding.
The more donations we receive the greater the chance or receiving donations from Aviva and match funding.
This is where we need all of you, the adult members of salisbury and South Wiltshire to help out. You can if you wish make a donation your self or for your family and we will be truly grateful. You may also help spread the word by letting every parent of the 1250 young people we have in the District along with all your friends and work colleagues know about the Camp Site quest and encourage them to visit the Salisbury Camp Site Quest page on the Aviva Community Fund web site.
We only get one chance at this so please do not be shy, send out the link and let's see if we can get much closer to our dream of our own Camp Site so that we get our youngsters out doing what they always are asking for CAMPING.
