Salisbury & South Wilts Celebrates St George's Day
29th April 2019
On Sunday 28th April some 300 beavers, cubs, scouts and explorers, joined over 150 parents, adult leaders, supporters and invited guests, to parade through the City to mark St. George's Day.
Groups mustered at Queen Elizabeth Gardens with flags unfurled, and formed up behind the District Colours and invited guests, before setting off along footpaths to St. Thomas' Church. The special guests included Dame Elizabeth Neville, Deputy Lieutenant of Wiltshire, The Mayors and Mayoresses of Salisbury and Wilton, John Glen MP and Steve Barley, County Commissioner.
At the church, a service was held which examined the concept of "making a promise". Following this, recipients of Scouting awards were acknowledged and all members renewed their Promise.
